WHY WE STARTED HOMESTEAD
We Believed There Was A Better Way To Build
We founded Homestead because we believed construction companies could be built differently.
We wanted to create a company where exceptional work and exceptional lives could coexist; where relationships matter, standards continue to rise, and success creates more freedom rather than less.
Throughout our careers, we saw extraordinary homes shaped by talented architects, designers, consultants, and craftspeople. We also saw how often the construction process created unnecessary friction.
Projects became more complicated than they needed to be. Communication became reactive. Decisions were made later than they should have been. The very things that made a project special were often placed at risk during construction. We never believed that was inevitable.
Homestead was founded on a simple idea: Exceptional homes deserve a construction process that is just as thoughtful as their design.
A process built on preparation instead of reaction. Alignment instead of assumption. Leadership instead of uncertainty.
We believe the best projects happen when architects, designers, homeowners, consultants, and builders work from a shared vision from the very beginning.

Homestead Builders Group is led by two equal principals with complementary responsibilities. The firm operates as a hands-on residential construction company, with leadership directly involved in planning, coordination, and execution throughout each project.
This structure allows HBG to maintain clarity between early design collaboration and disciplined construction management while ensuring continuity from pre-construction through completion.
DIRECTOR OF PRE-CONSTRUCTION
Candice Rania
Co-Founder
Candice leads early collaboration with architects/design teams and homeowners, focusing on decision timing, risk identification, and alignment between design intent, cost, and constructability. She guides the pre-construction phase, helping the project team establish clarity before work begins, and remains actively involved throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Her role is to ensure that creative ambition is supported by thoughtful planning and informed construction strategy.
DIRECTOR OF BUILD
Morgan Thomas
Co-Founder
Morgan leads day-to-day construction operations, overseeing site leadership, project sequencing, trade coordination, and quality control. Her responsibility is to translate resolved decisions into disciplined execution in the field.
She maintains the rhythm of the build, ensuring that the many moving parts of residential construction progress with clarity, organization, and respect for the work.
That balance is her craft.
